The Target Teen Safety Program was designed to identify vehicles that are operated by teen drivers. In doing so, the program focuses attention on a teen’s basic instincts to improve their driving skills. Through the use of highly reflective windshield stickers, the teen driver is made acutely aware that the community can more easily observe his or her driving behavior.
Teens constantly seek acceptance and approval of their peers, their parents, their supervisors and authority figures especially when they are learning new skills. Acceptance and approval turn into self esteem, increased stature, and a greater willingness to accept responsibility. Recognizing these traits, the Target Teen Safety Program employs certain segments of the teen driver’s daily life to modify their driving behavior. Their Parents who most influence their driving awareness; their School and Peers that are the core of their teen life, and Law Enforcement representing driving boundaries and restrictions they are taught to observe and respect.
